From idea to R$ 10.000: our first real milestone
This isn’t just a number on a Stripe dashboard. It’s validation that what started as an idea actually solves real problems for real people.
Today marks a pivotal moment in my entrepreneurial journey — my first company just crossed the R$ 10.000 revenue milestone. It’s proof that customers are willing to pay for the value we’re creating.
How it started
My colleague Fabio and I had the idea for this company a year ago. We iterated on how to price it, scale it, and market it. After a few months, we had enough to start coding.
- I owned the infrastructure and dashboard where users sign up, pay, and manage subscriptions.
- Fabio built the core service — a simple web server that serves huge files to our users.
We rushed it; in less than a month, we coded it. I remember working until 22:00 on Christmas Eve and getting back at it at 10:00 on the 25th. By the end of the first week of the year, we had an MVP — messy, but working. Then life happened for both of us, and we paused deployment.
Launch week
- 27 Apr 2025 — we messaged each other and recommitted to ship.
- 29 Apr 2025, 23:00 — we went live.
- We dropped the link in a few Brazilian WhatsApp groups and the first users started to roll in.
Most canceled during the free trial, which we expected. Instead of chasing vanity metrics, we DM’d users, asked what broke, and… oh boy, a lot broke. So we went bug hunting.
The spark
That same week, a top YouTuber in our niche gave us a shout-out. The day exploded — hundreds signed up. I was refreshing our Plausible dashboard every 10 minutes, watching concurrent visitors like a hawk. It was pure adrenaline.
Four months of shipping and learning
We fixed bugs, helped customers, added features, and built relationships with relevant people in the space. We didn’t spend a cent on ads — it was all about finding the right champions and serving users well.
By the numbers
Metric | Value |
---|---|
Registered users | 600+ |
Active subscriptions | 160 |
Total subscriptions created | 300+ |
MRR | R$ 2,648.89 |
Average spent per customer | R$ 47,41 |
Gross revenue | > R$ 10.100 |
Marketing spend | R$ 0 |
What actually worked for us
- Talk to users quickly and often — every DM surfaced a bug or insight.
- Ship fixes fast — visible progress builds trust.
- Relationships > ads — niche advocates can outpace paid campaigns.
- Instrument everything — Plausible and simple dashboards kept us focused.
What’s next
We’re heads down on:
- Hardening the file-serving pipeline for scale
- Better onboarding and in-app guidance
- Smarter pricing experiments
- A few collaborations with creators who truly understand our audience
I’m proud to say my first official business hit the R$ 10.000 milestone — and we’re just getting started.
